OUR TRAVEL
PHYLOSOPHY
At Puglia Bike Experience, we believe that the most memorable journeys aren't measured by the number of places you visit, but by the connections you make along the way.
Our tours embrace the philosophy of slow tourism: traveling at a pace that allows you to truly experience the land, its people, and its traditions. Riding an e-bike or exploring on foot lets you notice the small details that are often missed from a car. It gives you the freedom to stop whenever curiosity calls, whether it's to admire an ancient olive tree, chat with a shepherd tending his flock, or meet a local farmer harvesting seasonal produce.
Every tour is designed to create genuine encounters with the people who keep Puglia's traditions alive. Rather than simply observing local life, you'll become part of it. You'll meet olive oil producers, artisans, farmers, brewers, cheesemakers, and families who open their doors to share their stories, their work, and their passion. You won't just taste their products you'll discover how they're made and, whenever possible, take part in the experience yourself.

As a local eco-tourism guide, Marco acts as a bridge between travelers and the local community. His long-standing relationships allow guests to access places, families, and experiences that most visitors would never discover on their own.
By choosing Puglia Bike Experience, you're also supporting the preservation of local heritage. Many of the experiences included in our tours contribute directly to small family businesses, traditional craftsmen, and cultural associations such as Pro Loco Acquarica di Lecce, whose mission is to protect ancient trades, local traditions, and the cultural identity of the region. Entrance fees and activities included in our tours help support these initiatives and ensure that knowledge passed down through generations continues to thrive.
For us, slow tourism is about much more than sustainable transportation. It's about creating meaningful connections, supporting local communities, preserving traditions, and leaving a positive impact on the places we visit.
Because the true essence of Puglia isn't found in monuments alone. It's found in its people.

MARCO'S TRAVEL PHYLOSOPHY

Long before founding Puglia Bike Experience, Marco cycled from Rome to China. Along the way, he was welcomed into family homes, shared meals with strangers, and discovered that the most meaningful part of any journey isn't the places you visit, but the people you meet. That experience shaped the philosophy behind every tour he leads today.
"The greatest places I've ever discovered weren't on a map but were hidden in the people I met along the way. That's why I believe the most meaningful journeys aren't about seeing more, but about connecting more deeply.
If, at the end of a tour, my guests leave feeling they've made friends rather than simply visited a place, then I've achieved exactly what I hoped for."
Marco, Founder of Puglia Bike Experience
