⏺︎ STERNATIA After a 1-hour ride (19 km / 12 miles) through Lecce’s scenic countryside, framed by ancient olive trees and historic Masserias, you’ll reach Sternatia — one of the nine villages of Grecia Salentina where the Griko dialect is still spoken. Here, a 40-minute guided tour takes you underground to explore a 15th-century olive oil mill (Frantoio Ipogeo), revealing the fascinating story of lamp oil production and trade. • 2 hours • ⏺︎ GALATINA After a 45-minute bike ride (12 km / 7 miles), you’ll arrive in Galatina — the Baroque town where the famous Pasticciotto was born. Here, we visit the stunning Basilica di Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, a true artistic gem adorned with magnificent frescoes from Giotto’s school. The church is an architectural fusion of Romanesque, Gothic, Norman, and Byzantine styles — a visual journey through centuries. To complete the experience, we stop at Pasticceria Ascalone, where the original Pasticciotto was created back in 1740.
