⏺︎ LECCE The tour begins at our bike shop on Via G. Argento, 3, followed by a short ride through the narrow streets of Lecce’s historic centre. Admire the city’s elegant Baroque architecture before heading into the Salento countryside. • 15 minutes • ● CASTELLO DI ACAYA Cycle along quiet country roads surrounded by ancient olive groves and traditional Masserie until you reach Acaya, one of the finest examples of a fortified Renaissance village in Southern Italy. Explore its impressive 16th-century castle and discover the history of this small fortified town. Admission included • 30 minutes • ● ACQUARICA DI LECCE Continue cycling through the countryside to Acquarica di Lecce, a village closely connected to Salento’s rural traditions. Take part in a hands-on reed-weaving workshop with local artisans Pantaleo and Uccio. Learn about this ancient craft and help preserve a traditional skill that has been passed down through generations. • 45 minutes • ● VERNOLE In Vernole, meet local guide Giovanna and visit a historic underground olive oil mill carved into the soft limestone. Discover how lamp oil was produced and exported from Salento to cities across Europe from the 15th century onwards, making the region an important centre of the international olive oil trade. • 45 minutes • ● MASSERIA LI CANDI Visit a traditional Salento Masseria and enjoy an authentic extra virgin olive oil tasting with Lina. Seated in the welcoming surroundings of the farmhouse, you will learn about the complete olive oil production process, from harvesting the olives to pressing, storage and tasting. • 60 minutes • ● LECCE Cycle back to Lecce through peaceful countryside roads and olive groves, returning to the bike shop where the experience began. • 60 minutes •
